Youth Engagement in Urban Agriculture

A broad coalition of grassroots organizations, nonprofits, community gardeners, and other interested stakeholders have organized the second Syracuse Food Justice Symposium. This event is designed specifically for educators, school food service staff, school administrative staff, parents, students and community members in order to explore models or garden based learning that supports youth engagement in urban agriculture.
The goals of this symposium:
- Explore garden based learning models support hands-on urban agriculture education and promote healthy lifestyle choices
- Provide skill building opportunities for youth and adult community participants
- Facilitate dialogue, share information and develop collective strategies through partnership building
